Why do many law firm marketing & PR campaigns fall flat?

Let’s be honest, many law firm marketing and PR programmes fall flat. 


Often there is a core problem that they mix up having a Marcomms Plan and events programme (the specifics of what you are doing) with having a Communications Strategy (the big things you want to communicate that will drive your reputation forward).

This is odd as lawyers inherently understand the importance of having a good reputation.  But many assume reputation is something that comes automatically from giving good advice and winning cases, rather than as an asset that has to be grown.

Often this leads to PR and marketing programmes that give all their emphasis to tactical campaigns to generate leads, and not enough on building a stronger reputation (which creates the valuable trust that, amongst other things, makes any leads more likely to buy and your network to recommend your firm).
