AiNED, the new professional association for independent non executive directors, has appointed Public Relations agency Kelso Consulting to help generate press coverage in the financial and business media ahead of its launch in Autumn 2018.
The Association for Independent Nonexecutive Directors, a non-profit making organisation, was founded and is run by experienced, high-level iNEDs who wish to improve standards and offer support for people in similar roles. Membership is open both to iNEDs with existing or recent Non-Executive level roles, as well as to experienced Executive Directors looking to broaden their skills and knowledge to gain their first iNED roles.
Gary Dixon, the Founding Chairman of AiNED said: "There are numerous and substantial changes happening to corporate governance that mean the role of independent non executive director is becoming more and more important while more demanding and regulated at the same time.
"Currently there is no professional body to provide suitable support and training to independent nonexecutives, and AiNED will be filling this gap as a professional association created for iNEDs by iNEDs.
“Part of our communication challenge is to make the iNEDs around the country aware that we are launching in Autumn 2018 and to differentiate ourselves from the various privately-owned training and networking companies in this space, many of which try to give the impression that they are professional associations.
"Over the years I have worked with Kelso Consulting on various business and ventures. It is very much my experience that strong press coverage in business publications and national media helps ensure successful launches and further growth.
"Not only does it generate awareness and credibility, it is also now additionally important for boosting the search engine rankings of websites so they appear on the front page of Google, which is a hugely important place to be.
"We are already off to a flying start in terms of coverage, with further articles in such publications at the Financial News and Insurance Age appearing shortly too.”
Kelso’s Tim Prizeman said: “Britain’s businesses need more than ever the critical and long-term view that independent non-executives bring. We are pleased to be helping launch this much-needed association through securing the sort of coverage that highlights its importance and the also the broader importance of genuinely independent board-level scrutiny to financial and other businesses.”
